2025-2026 School Year

Comic Creation Club

Comics and Graphic Novels have never been as prevalent and accessible as they are today. Kids absolutely love to take in the colorful images and fun stories. Many kids want to learn how to create their own comics! That’s where this after-school club comes in.

My name is Nate Madden, also known as Mx. Madden, one of the 4th grade teachers at Cold Spring Elementary School from 2015-2025. I decided to say goodbye to the classroom, in the traditional sense, and start my own after-school programming and private tutoring business. I have an extensive education and tons of experience.

Club members will receive materials, plenty of practice time, and in-depth instruction on how to bring their comic ideas to life! These participants will have tons of fun using their imagination to formulate stories and adapt them using the comic format, whether they’re looking to create funny comic strips or longer graphic novel-style narratives.

This course will also instruct participants in various brainstorming techniques for generating ideas, story structure lessons for piecing together their narratives, art lessons for developing their own personal style, and more!

This course is perfect for comic and graphic novel lovers, creative writers, and budding artists.
