COMIC CREATION Club - Spring Session
SPECIAL END-OF-YEAR PRICING!
This 8-week club session is brought to you by former Cold Spring Elementary School teacher, Nate Madden.
This club will take place on Thursdays, 3:40-4:40pm.
Dates: 4/9; 4/16; 4/23; 4/30; 5/7; 5/14; 5/21; 5/28
Participants will receive in-depth instruction on how to bring their comic ideas to life. This will support students in both their narrative writing and artistic skills. Participants will have tons of fun using their imagination to formulate narratives and bring those stories to the page using the comic format. This course is perfect for comic lovers, creative writers, and budding artists.
PARTICIPATION IN THIS CLUB ALSO INCLUDES A SPECIAL VISIT AND Q&A SESSION WITH MARYLAND STATE AWARD-WINNER AND NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR, ROSEANNE A. BROWN. She will join in-person to discuss her work on her various published works and share her insights and encouragements with the students.

It Starts with an Idea: Brainstorming & Journaling Strategies
Study the Masters: Analyzing Professional Comics for Craft
Finding Your Style: What do I want it to look like?
Give it a Try: Style & Art Experimentation and Practice
Paneling and Formatting: the What, How, and Why
Communicating Your Message: Scripting Your Comic
Putting on the Finishing Touches: Refinement Techniques
In-Person Visit with Roseanne A. Brown
Included in the cost of this program:
Professional instruction from a certified teacher with a Master’s degree and 10+ years of classroom experience
New lined writing notebook
New blank sketch notebook
New writing materials (pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, pens)
Additional paper and various art materials (colored pencils, markers, etc.)
Reference sheets for continued practice outside of club time
